Shout Cam Submitted to Apple for Review

vitapoly : July 8, 2011 8:33 am : Shout Cam

Shout Cam is finally ready, just submitted to Apple for review. If we are lucky, it may be released next week.

I actually got a chance to whip out the app and use it first hand this past weekend. My girlfriend wanted to go learn about bees, so we visited a beekeeper. He had about 4 or 5 nests in one 10×10 feet area. There’s probably more than 30,000 bees at any one time over there. Needless to say, we needed to suit up, nothing agitates bees more than humans snooping around in their nests. Of course, this thread would be useless without pics, that’s when it occurred to me that I could use Shout Cam to take some pictures. The built in Camera app has the limitation that it won’t work through my gloves. For Shout Cam to take pictures, all I have to do is make some noise. Well, I didn’t actually shout, there were about ten other people around us and I didn’t want to look like a crazed lunatic. What I did was just rub the microphone hole with my gloves, since the rubbing is so close to the microphone, it actually creates enough detectable noise for the app to take a picture. Here are some of the results (resized to save me some bandwidth):
